Our Saturday walk, beginning at Church Stretton and heading up onto the Long Mynd to a point called (I think) Pole Bank, followed by a descent into Little Stretton. This is early on, not far from Church Stretton.

Out of Church Stretton, and beginning the climb up through a valley onto the Long Mynd. Despite the fog it was very nice, and there was even some snow on the ground in places down here.

See, snow. Also disappearing into the mists is the elusive and hard to photograph 'Vicki'.

Vicki stands by a marker post. They were harder to spot in the fog than that guidebook had assumed.

Higher up the Mynd, there was really quite a lot of snow left. Considering the heavy snow was over a week ago, and it was quite mild and lightly drizzling, there must have been TONS of this stuff earlier.

The snow had drifted in places and those were the bits that were mostly still around. Even after the thaw it was still pretty deep.

More snow walking up on the Mynd.

Back in Church Stretton, in a quirky little coffee shop we found. Cream tea was very good.

The 'have you not taken enough pictures yet you old man' look.

Our cottage for the weekend, with its luxuriously large living room with real log fire.

Our cottage's kitchen, all modern and refurbished. The eating area in the sun was particularly relaxing. The owners even left us cake, Welsh butter and home made jam. Mmmm.

Our Sunday walk from the village of Clun. This is Clun's something-century bridge.

Clun had quite a lot of interesting things to visit that we didn't look at. They also apparently have an event called 'Strictly Clun Dancing', the appeal of which I leave for you to decide.

Ascending the hill outside Clun. The village can not be clearly seen in the distance.

Right at the top, there were these three trees on the hill, apparently beside a prehistoric cairn. But isn't that just a pile of stones? Vicki pointed out.

Yet more willing co-operation in the art of chronicling our trip through the medium of photographs.

Our cottage, from the outside. Look at it! It's huge! And you can only see the kitchen from here. The living room was in another wing, and the bedrooms sat on the top.
